Through extensive interviews conducted in four inner-city schools in the United States, Louis F Mir[ac]on identifies two forms of discrimination - racial and academic. He then presents positive strategies designed for administrative leaders to eradicate the problem of discrimination from their schools.

This interpretive analysis presents evidence of racism, including under-representation, within news texts. The author examines the values, traditions and practices of news production that, often unconsciously, serve to maintain the alienation of racial groups in society.
