Leadership: Theories, Styles, and Approaches in Education explores the processes and strategies that effective leaders in educational settings employ to guide stakeholders and navigate the challenges inherent in contemporary schools. Emphasizing sustainability and accountability, the text describes various theories and models of leadership as tools to foster an environment conducive to learning and inclusiveness. The book details several leadership styles, demonstrating how they intersect with the essentials of ethical leadership practice and help to cultivate a culture that fosters equitable and inclusive education. Emphasis is placed on transformational, authentic, and servant leadership, alongside explorations of culturally relevant and adaptive leadership models. The revised edition features new contributions from current and former practitioners in the field of educational leadership. These first-person accounts add significant value to the text to further bridge the gap between theory and practice. Leadership is ideal for courses that cover theories, styles, and approaches to educational leadership at both the building and district levels. It is also ideal for courses that cover leadership in general, namely as it applies to aspiring teachers, principals, and superintendents in the PreK-12 educational setting.
