This textbook examines the application of Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques within medical healthcare settings. It transitions the focus from a traditional expert approach to a patient-driven approach guided by MI. The book demonstrates how healthcare professionals can harness MI to improve patient outcomes by respecting their autonomy and facilitating intrinsic motivation for change.
