The second edition of Media Ethics and Global Peace: Readings on Artificial Intelligence, Critical Thinking, and Cyberspace explores pressing ethical issues at the forefront of our ever-evolving media landscape, especially in view of advanced technologies and global interconnectedness. The anthology offers critical insight into the challenges presented by artificial intelligence, conflicting narratives within media reporting during periods of conflict, and the complexities of information spread in cyberspace. The readings within the textbook examine key ethical principles, providing readers with a framework to navigate the nuanced dilemmas faced by media practitioners and consumers in the digital age. Topics addressed include the application of traditional ethical guidelines in new media contexts, evolving societal expectations of media transparency and accountability, the ethical responsibilities that come with the advent of AI both in media creation and consumption, ethical considerations related to social media, reputation and brand management, and more. The second edition has been reorganized and features new topical areas and readings to better reflect current media practices, issues, and trends. Media Ethics and Global Peace encourages not only contemplation, but also critical application of ethical principles to new scenarios shaped by technological advances and the globalization of information exchange. It is ideal for courses in media ethics, communication studies, and international relations and media.
