In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the nursing field has undergone a profound transformation. As healthcare systems struggled with extraordinary challenges, nurse practitioners emerged as integral team members, highlighting their adaptability and resilience. Featuring contributed chapters from experts in the field, Advanced Nursing Practice: The Expanding Role of the Nurse Practitioner provides students with an in-depth examination of nurse practitioners' enhanced responsibilities, skills, and contributions. The book underscores the ways in which advanced nursing practice and the nurse practitioner role are constantly evolving to meet the needs of the healthcare system and play a significant role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery. Individual chapters cover the changing healthcare landscape, innovations and new technologies, nursing education, essential competencies according to the AACN, advanced practice nursing's role in social determinants of health, leadership and project management, and more. Designed to help students better understand the expanding role of the nurse practitioner, Advanced Nursing Practice is an ideal textbook for courses and programs within the discipline.
