Author:
Darren Mort is a Family Law Barrister and a passionate advocate for children’s welfare. He has worked extensively in family law, focusing on minimising the impact of family turmoil on children. Additionally Darren is also an author and producer, known for his creative projects that highlight the resilience and rich inner world of children navigating parental conflict.
Illustrator:
Megan Forward is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based illustrator and author of picture books. She blends watercolour, charcoal, pencil, ink, and collage to create stories inspired by everyday details. Her books include A Patch from Scratch and All I Want for Christmas Is Rain (both CBCA Shortlist 2017), Emily Green’s Garden, and more. Megan holds degrees in Visual Art and Teaching and enjoys running creative workshops that combine art, story, and wellbeing. As a child, she dreamed of being like Beatrix Potter, and now brings that dream to life through her work.
