The Emancipated Potter. Sydney Cove 1788 to Parramatta 1795. The beginnings of the settlement of Parramatta. Colin Osborne’s idyllic life as a skilled potter is stolen by an entitled peer. A punch leads to Colin’s transportation to the other side of the world. Aggie Gibbs is a young convict girl pursued by a rogue soldier. The two are thrown together in a town of felons and lustful men. Captain John Hunter is Colin’s mentor, and he paves the way for a new life for his young friends. Then disaster strikes, and he must leave. Can Colin keep Aggie safe? Will they fulfil Captain John Hunter’s wish of building a pottery school? Will John ever return to New South Wales?
Sara Powter lives on the NSW Central Coast. She spent her childhood with her parents, travelling Australia, fishing, and collecting shells, and she learned to love Australia. She met and married Stephen, a minister in the Newcastle Anglican Diocese in NSW who retired in November 2020. When ‘Covid 19’ hit, 'time' was available to pen some of the stories Sara had wanted to write. Three stories were finished within four months. Four years later, book #30 is nearly complete. The inspiration for these novels stems from her passion for Colonial Australia, her convict ancestors, and the remarkable history of this incredible country, Australia!
* Australian Colonai Novels, with a nice outcome.
