Even though they can’t be together right now, it’s not going to stop this little girl and her grandparents from having a great time!

Author: Lucy is an early childhood educator and lives in Sydney with her husband, daughter and cat. She was born in England and grew up in Hong Kong, so her family is spread out all over the globe. This distance grew larger when the pandemic caused borders to close a few months after the birth of her daughter. She found herself trying to help her parents build a relationship with their first granddaughter from afar and one day, she held her phone camera up to her daughter as she played during a video call, and the idea for her first children’s picture book was born. Lucy believed that picture books provide comfort to children and hopes to continue writing books that will help children make sense of our big and confusing world. Illustrator: Annelies Billeter is based in Melbourne and graduated with a Diploma of Illustration in 2002. After working in children’s textile and clothing design for many years, her passion for illustrating children’s books was reignited through having her own two young children. She loves to depict people and family life and enjoys working in traditional watercolour as well as exploring digital mediums. Previously and honours graduate with BMUS Performance in Viola, she is fortunate to be able to combine all her loves of music performance, teaching young children violin, and illustration.

* A heart-warming tale about the connection between a young girl and her grandparents overseas. * Inspired by the real life experiences of the author and her family. * Key themes include love, family and making connection despite there being a distance between loved ones. * Watercolour illustrations by Annelies Billeter.
