Poppy loves exploring outside of her mummy’s pouch, but one day she zigs and zags just a little too far. Lost and scared, Poppy must ask some other bush animals for help to find her mummy!
Author: Laura lives in the Adelaide Hills with her husband, daughter and their many different animals. While she always harboured the desire to write stories, it was Poppy, one of her rescued joey kangaroos, who inspired her to write her debut children’s book titled Out of the Pouch. Laura and her family have taken on 10 joeys who have needed homes after losing their mothers since 2017. In her spare time Laura can be found getting ice-cream with her daughter, trying her hand at a new creative craft, or staring blankly at a new Word document. She hopes to one day turn that document into another story that children will enjoy. Illustrator: Born feet first in a blackout, Nandina was always going to have a fantastic if somewhat quirky imagination. Raised in the coastal paradise of Port Stephens, Nandina graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree with a major in Natural History Illustration. By day she is a graphic designer and at night she turns into a mad illustrator. She works purely digitally and is able to produce digital art that represents traditional mediums. You can find Nandina’s website at: www.nandinavinesillustrator.com
