To Be a Leader examines the concept of leadership through the dual lenses of being and doing. The book focuses on intangible leadership aspects, underscoring traits like positive attitude, embracing change, and the power of ethical behavior. It offers insights into the essence of effective leadership, going beyond mere task completion to also include character development, spiritual leadership, and the creation of community within the workplace. The text merges theoretical constructs with practical guidance, presenting readers with actionable principles to implement in their leadership journey. The book explores the underlying qualities of great leadership, including the balance between personality and character and their influence on a leader's ability to motivate and inspire others. The interplay between leadership actions and the personal attributes a leader brings to their role is a focal point, with the aim of presenting a holistic vision of what constitutes effective leadership. To Be a Leader is well suited for courses that focus on organizational leadership, educational leadership, and business administration, providing students with a nuanced understanding of leadership principles and the potential impact of leaders in shaping their environments.
