For the past 20 years, he has taught courses in philosophy and religion at The College of Saint Rose, Ball State University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Castleton University, Green Mountain College, Marlboro College, Community College of Vermont, and McGill University. He holds a Ph.D. in comparative philosophy and religion from Vrije University Amsterdam.
