Embark on a memorable pilgrimage along Galicia's rugged Atlantic coast with The Camino Ingles and Camino del Mar, two historic Camino de Santiago routes that combine scenic beauty, cultural richness, and the timeless thrill of walking in the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims. From the charming harbours of Ferrol and A Coruna to the wild coastal landscapes of Ribadeo, each route offers stunning views, tranquil countryside, and the experience of reaching Santiago de Compostela on foot. This essential guidebook, authored by Dave Whitson and Laura Perazzoli, provides detailed stage descriptions, clear 1:100,000 mapping with larger-scale urban maps, and practical planning advice to help walkers and pilgrims tackle these classic Spanish Camino routes with confidence. The Camino Ingles typically takes around one week to complete and is suitable for most walkers with a decent fitness level. Detailed descriptions of the classic 116km (72 mile) Camino Ingles from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela are included, plus an alternate 73km route starting at A Coruna to Hospital de Bruma and on to Santiago The newly designated 190km (118 mile) pilgrim route the Camino del Mar provides a coastal link from Ribadeo between the Camino del Norte and the Camino Ingles and is presented in 7 stages of 16-36km each, offering an opportunity to be a trailblazing pilgrim, away from the crowds Downloadable GPX files are available for both routes as a digital navigation alternative for your Spanish pilgrim adventure Practical advice covers accommodation (pilgrim lodgings like albergues) and facilities, as well as how to get your pilgrim passport Whether you're walking the classic Camino Ingles in a week or extending your journey along the dramatic coastal Camino del Mar, this guidebook equips you with the route knowledge, maps and practical information you need. With expertly researched stages and clear guidance, The Camino Ingles and Camino del Mar guidebook helps you plan and enjoy a rewarding pilgrimage experience immersed in history, culture, and the breathtaking landscapes of northern Spain.
