Not your average cookbook. This is a research-based recipe for innovation! This book is for anyone wanting to kick start innovation in their organization. It is ground-breaking in two ways: It is based on data, combining empirical research, literature reviews, business cases, and interviews. It tells a story of two friends in diametrically opposite business predicaments due to COVID. Their story is complex and layered, making for engaging reading. For too long, innovation culture has been amorphous. InnoQTM, built on years of rigorous research, breaks it into 11 dimensions that can be measured, tracked, and improved. We share real world data and examples showing the power of the 11 dimensions and provide concrete ways to improve on them. The pandemic has fundamentally changed the way organizations do business for the next many years-creating a culture of innovation is now more important than ever. This book is perfect for leaders, innovators, managers, and students.
Sanjay Puligadda, creator of InnoQTM, is Associate Professor in the Farmer School of Business, Miami University, Ohio. He teaches, researches, and consults on innovation and marketing. Besides publishing academic research in the leading scientific journals of his field, he is an innovation consultant, speaker, playwright, and improv actor. He received his PhD in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University. Don Waisanen is a Professor in the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College, City University of New York. He researches, teaches, and consults on communication and leadership. He is the author of seven books, including Leadership Standpoints and Improv for Democracy. Don received his PhD in Communication from the University of Southern California.
Innovation Soup is a must-read for organizations that are committed to turn innovation into an ongoing strength. The content and style are approachable yet thorough. It is also timely and essential in today's post-Covid times, as it provides specific guidelines, methods, and tools to develop a culture of innovation. The InnoQTM (the tool discussed) is a must for organizations trying to be innovative. While there is a ton of research and data, the book is beautifully written to keep you engaged.--Bob Gilbreath, Innovator, Multiple-exit startup founder, investor and board member, author, MBA (NYU/Stern)
