Educated in the United Kingdom, Philip Cooper joined Citibank London before moving to Athens as a foreign exchange trader. He then spent time at Citibank's MENA Training Centre in both Athens and Beirut as the operations manager and a foreign exchange trainer. He joined Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) UK as head of learning and development, training prospective traders. He was later appointed head of learning and education for UBS in North America. He later left the bank to create a successful financial training company in New York City. Returning to London in 1999, he worked as a training consultant to online brokerage houses, and the Ministry of Defense. He has published Competing in Financial Markets, and two novels, one titled The Gladio Protocol, and its sequel Macedonia is Burning.
