Managing Health and Safety in a Small Business is an up-to-date guide, reflecting current concerns about how to identify and manage health and safety risks in a small business, with a broad focus on practical guidance wherever your business is based globally. It covers all the basic principles of assessing risks without quoting specific regulations that are likely to change depending on your location. With additional checklists and suggestions throughout, it can be used by individual business owners, consultants or business advisors working with them, or as a basic introduction to the key elements of risk assessment.
Dr Jacqueline Jeynes, PhD, MBA, B.Ed (Hons) BA(Hons), is a long-term contributor to international discussions about Health & Safety and Risk Management. Her PhD in 2000 identified the critical elements of practical health and safety management for small and micro businesses. Jacqueline continues to write non-fiction articles, books, and online courses, is recognized as an international conference speaker, and has received Writer of the Year and Specialist Business Advisor of the Year awards. She lives with her husband Leslie in Wales UK. In 2021, Jeynes published Targeting the Mature Traveler. She also has another forthcoming book in 2022, How a global pandemic changed the way we travel, both with BEP.
I think it's a brilliant idea. Having worked on both sides of enforcement and consultancy, I know how small businesses struggle and a book like this will be a tremendous asset. All too often H&S is the last thing thought of and then panic when something goes wrong. This will take small business owners through it one stage at a time, in a language they will understand.--K. Mathias, Consultant/ Advisor Love the 'no-nonsense, straight from the hip' approach. It shows a brilliantly logical sequence to the reader, written in plain, easy-to-understand language.--C. Saaler, Total Management Systems
