Stephen Houlgate is the author of Hegel, Nietzsche and the Criticism of Metaphysics, Freedom, Truth and History, and An Introduction to Hegel's Philosophy as well as numerous articles on Hegel, Kant and Nietzsche. He is also editor of The Hegel Reader and Hegel and the Philosophy of Nature. He served as vice-president of the Hegel Society of America from 1992 to 1994 and as president from 1994 to 1996. He is currently editor of the Bulletin of the Hegel Society of Great Britain.
