Karen Alred qualified as an EN at GOSH in the 1980s, completed the RN(A) conversion and is a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in School Nursing, registered NMC teacher and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Previously Course Lead for the Assistant Practitioner and Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeships at the University of Suffolk, she is currently working as a lecturer for the FdSc Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship at the University of East Anglia (UEA). She held a previous role within the RCN Education Forum Steering Group Committee. She uses her own experiences of learning to enable students to gain the most from the Trainee Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship
