Phillip Thomas Tucker is the author of several books on the Civil War, including Irish Confederates: The Civil War's Forgotten Soldiers and The Confederacy's Fighting Chaplain, winner of the Douglas Southall Freeman Award. He is a United States Air Force historian at Bolling Air Force Base.
