An examination of the possibility of developing an aesthetics of organization as a field of inquiry within organization studies. Heather Hopfl and Stephen Linstead delineate the parameters of the field by bringing together key contributions, which: explain how meaning and order become real in an organization through the concepts of postmodern thinkers; highlight methodological problems associated with investigations of the aesthetic; and facilitate understanding of the importance of ideas on vision, perspective and periphery for learning in organizations.
